Relocation of Inland Revenue Department and the Exhibition

The Inland Revenue Centre, a new dedicated building for the Inland Revenue Department, will be open for use in late 2022. A majority of the offices of Units/Sections of the Inland Revenue Department will be relocated to the new building by phases by late 2022/early 2023.   Besides, to mark the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of HKSAR as well as the 75th Anniversary of the Inland Revenue Department, an exhibition with the theme of "Past and Future" will be held from 19 December 2022 to 31 January 2023 on G/F of  Inland Revenue Centre.   Through this exhibition, visitors can tour around the past, present and future of the Inland Revenue Department.  All Members of the public are welcome to the exhibition.   For details of the relocation as well as the exhibition, please visit Inland Revenue Department website (https://www.ird.gov.hk/eng/abo/relocate.htm).  ...

1. The 50th AGM The Institute is going to hold the 50th AGM on Friday, 2nd of September 2022 at 5:30 p.m. at The Chinese Club (華商會所), 14th Floor, 21-22 Connaught Road Central, Hong Kong. Extended Due Date for ‘D’ Code Returns

Recognising the impact of the recent situation of the COVID-19 pandemic on the daily operation of businesses and practitioners, the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) decided to further extend the due date for filing 2021/22 Profits Tax returns with Accounting Date Code ‘D’ (i.e. accounting date falls within 1 December 2021 to 31 December 2021) from 31 August 2022 to 15 September 2022. Despite this extension, tax representatives are encouraged to file as many returns as possible well before the extended due date. Notice of an Election of Eight Members to the Council 2022

  Nominations are now being sought for an Election of Eight Members to the Council 2022 (“the Election”). Pursuant to Article 62 of the Institute's Articles of Association, at each Annual General Meeting to be held after 2017, one third of the elected members of Council for the time being or (if their number is not 3 or a multiple of 3) then the number nearest to but greater than one third shall retire and be eligible for re-election. The elected Council Members to retire pursuant to the preceding sentence shall be those persons who have been longest in office since their last election, but as between persons who became elected Council Members on the same day those to retire shall (unless they otherwise agree among themselves) be determined by lot.
