TIHK Supporting Event – Hong Kong Undergraduate Financial Planners of the Year Award 2023
In view of the growing importance of wealth management and financial planning, the Society of Registered Finanancial Planners (HKRFP) is launching the Hong Kong Undergraduate Financial Planners of the Year Award 2023 (the “Award”) for undergraduate students. The aims of the Award are to raise the awareness of financial planning among students and to equip them with adequate preparation for a career in the financial planning industry.
As of latest year, over 200 students from regional universities have entered into the Award competition and responses have been overwhelming. This competition is open to all full-time undergraduate students studying in the universities in Hong Kong and Macau.

TIHK Supporting Event – Belt and Road Summit 2023
The 8th edition of the Belt and Road Summit jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council will be held in Hong Kong on 13-14 September 2023.
The annual Belt and Road Summit is a premier international platform for participants to capture promising business opportunities along the Belt and Road. Since its inception in 2016, the Summit has been gathering senior government officials and prestigious business leaders from countries and regions along and beyond the Belt and Road to exchange insights on multilateral collaboration and explore potential business opportunities. 2023 CTA Exam Survey
Introduction
The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK) is committed to promoting the study of taxation and maintaining high standards in the knowledge and practice of tax professionals. Towards these goals, TIHK has held the Chartered Tax Adviser Qualifying Examination (“CTA Exam”) since year 2010 to qualify new entrants to the profession of CTA.
The survey can enable TIHK to promote the exam to the right candidates, to help the potential candidates to prepare for the exam and to enhance the recognition of CTA qualification in the tax industry.

2023香港稅務學會北京拜訪交流團活動花絮
香港稅務學會於7月13 - 14日進行了學會的重點活動--北京拜訪交流團。今年，是受疫情影響3年後，再次重啟與國內稅務機關的拜訪交流活動。學會會長劉昭華女士，聯同各位副會長、上屆會長、前會長、一眾理事代表、以及委員會成員和會員，共30人一同前往北京進行拜訪交流活動。是次交流團拜訪了財政部、國家稅務總局、北京市稅務局、中國注冊稅務師協會、中國稅務學會和中國國際稅收研究會。
此次拜訪為期兩天，期間進行了一連串的學術交流和參觀訪問活動，旨在促進兩地稅務領域的交流，增進各方對兩地稅制的認識和了解。同時，此次拜訪也進一步推動了香港與內地在稅務議題上的深度合作，有助於進一步提高兩地稅務領域的專業水平和國際影響力。

Warm Reminder on Profits Tax Return Filing Requirements
Please take note of the following new filing requirements when you do profits tax filing this year:
1. If you have any gross income during the basis period, you must submit your profits tax return together with all supporting documents (including financial statements and tax computation). Small corporations and businesses with gross income not exceeding HK$2 million will no longer be permitted to file their profits tax returns without supporting documents.
2. Where appropriate, you are required to electronically file (e-file) all relevant supplementary forms and other forms to be furnished with the profits tax return under the eTAX services provided at GovHK.
The Department has already enhanced the eTAX services to enable more corporations and businesses (excluding sole proprietorship businesses) to voluntarily e-file their profits tax returns together with financial statements and tax computations in inline eXtensible Business Reporting Language (iXBRL) format.
