The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) held their annual meeting on 15 May 2020 and the associated meeting minutes were released in October 2020. In this webinar, our speakers will highlight certain topics on profits tax, salaries tax and transfer pricing discussed between the IRD and HKICPA in the annual meeting and provide insights on the implications in practice.

Speaker Profile

Irene is a Partner in KPMG Hong Kong transfer pricing team and has more than 14 years’ experience working as a full time transfer pricing specialist and providing services to leading regional and multinational groups.

Irene has worked with a variety of TP clients and dealt with their TP issues in the past years. She has extensive experience in coordinating different regional and global assignments, including transfer pricing risk assessments, policy design/formation, structural planning and supporting as well as providing regional coordination for master file preparation upon the BEPS action plan releases and assisted clients in preparing local country transfer pricing documentation for multinational corporations and banks that have entities in the Asia Pacific region.

Gabriel is a Tax Director in the People Services practice in Hong Kong and works with a number of large Hong Kong-based clients with international assignees. He is well versed in employment and individual tax and global mobility issues and has a regional tax advisory background.

Gabriel also has extensive experience working with private companies, start-ups and funds on founders and employee share ownership plans, co-investment arrangements, and profit sharing arrangements.

William is a Tax Director in Corporate Tax Advisory and has over 12 years of experience in KPMG’s tax practice in Hong Kong. William specializes in providing Hong Kong and international tax advisory services.

William has over 12 years of expertise in Hong Kong Profits Tax in relation to direct and indirect tax issues. He assists in advising a number of multinationals in various industries. Prior to joining the tax function, he gained 1.5 years of expertise in audit in KPMG, being responsible for external audit for clients in the Information, Communication and Entertainment industry including several Hong Kong listed companies.
