A look at how the tax landscape is changing due to the digitalisation of our economies and tax systems, and what the future might hold.
The Digitalisation of Tax – The second webinar in our Global CTA Tax Webinar Series, proudly presented by The Tax Institute (in Australia), The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong, the Irish Tax Institute and the Chartered Institute of Taxation (in the UK).
The digitalisation of tax extends well beyond the investment in technologies by our administrators to gather information (lodgments), improve collections, and gain insights into the taxpaying population. Digitalisation is making global business increasingly more efficient and effective, facilitating cross border transactions with little physical presence. Tax functions, therefore, need to adapt and evolve to meet the needs of administrators and business in an ever changing, multijurisdictional environment. This session will cover:
- Global trends in digitalisation
- The impact of digitalisation on tax compliance and the tax base
- Challenges in addressing digitalisation in multijurisdictional tax functions
- How the role of the in-house tax function and that of the professional advisor will evolve in this environment
Our panel of tax experts from practice and business will explore these questions and offer their perspectives. The current Vice President of The Tax Institute (in Australia), Jerome Tse, will chair the debate.
The format will be short speeches / presentations from panellists followed by a discussion, with the opportunity for the audience to make comments and put questions to the panel.
