Part 1. The connections among CBDC, Digital Assets and Metaverse

Under the new normal and the threat of trade war and pandemic, some countries like El Salvador legalised Bitcoin to take part in the digital transformation while China banned crypto completely to strengthen the effectiveness of the upcoming massive country-wide eCNY introductory project. If the initiative of Metaverse is adopted by many corporates, how shall we future-proof our digital transformation processes? If Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is becoming mainstream, what will be the future of Bitcoin, stablecoins, digital assets and NFTs?

Part 2. How Protech will be used to address commercial & property management

PropTech is the application of technology to drive innovation and business transformation in the real estate sector. Clement will share how Proptech is used to address the commercial & property management challenges in nowadays shopping mall management. Previously, Clement was in charge of a 160,000 sq. meter luxury shopping mall development in Kunming, China from the initial stage of layout & retail planning to daily operations in the year 2015 to 2021. The successful opening of this mall brings Kunming into one of the top retail leagues of Western China.

Part 3. The new era of Green KYC process with native-to-native approach

Regulatory technology (Regtech), is the use of technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of risk management and regulatory compliance. Armed with technical and business experience gained in the UK, US and APAC, Andre has recently invented patented NLP-based technology on Chinese characters fuzzy logics. He will share how this new technology and its application will be impacting traditional and bringing along a new era of Green KYC AML process for financial institutions globally. He will also highlight how financial services and products incorporate ESG considerations in relation to emerging regulations.

Mr. Emil Chan is an Adjunct Professor of EMBA programme at City University of Hong Kong and he is the Chairman of The Association of Cloud and Mobile Computing Professionals.

Emil is a FinTech evangelist, digital transformation consultant and startup mentor with extensive experience in cross-border financial system design, banking operation, capital market strategy consulting and corporate culture building in emerging technology markets.

In recent years, he has devoted himself to building a solid nurturing environment for the next-generation fintech ecosystem in the Greater Bay Area. He not only advises corporate and SMEs, but also serves as a mentor for startups and an advisory board member of the Cyberport Startup Committee. Moreover, he has been a visiting professor, lecturer and guest speaker at a few universities in Hong Kong.

Clement Tam is the General Manager of Kadoorie Estates Limited, the real estate arm of the Kadoorie Group, managing a portfolio of luxury residential and A-grade commercial properties in Hong Kong.

Clement has more than 20 years of management experiences in real estates and aviation with organisations including Kadoorie Estates Limited, Hang Lung Properties, HKR International, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company. He has worked extensively in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Middle East and various Asian countries.

He holds a Master of Engineering Science Degree from the University of Oxford, U.K.

Andre Leung is CEO and co-founder of Aereve, a Regtech & ESG startup, and Co-Chair of Greentech and ESG Committee of Fintech Association of Hong Kong.

He has strong knowledge gained over the last 20 years with KYC screening, AML transaction monitoring, regulator (HKMA & SFC AML/CFT) compliance & regulations including regulatory reporting, whilst gaining senior management experience with the top financial service providers, big 4 consulting firms, and regulators from USA, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Other technical experiences include large scale project & program management, credit risk assessment, setting up financial analytics, financial and IT Due Diligence of financial institutions including system & integration.

Andre studied undergraduate Mathematics at Oxford University and EMBA from Kellogg-HKUST.
