Mr. Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of the Government of the HKSAR, delivered the 2022/23 Budget on 23 February 2022. At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the global economy in all sectors, the Budget this year again focused on measures assisting those affected by the pandemic as well as measures strengthening Hong Kong’s position as an international business and financial centre. In this seminar, Mr. Webster Ng, the President of TIHK, Ms. Ada Ma and Ms. Anita Tsang, the Council Members of TIHK will discuss the highlights of the Budget and share their insights with members.

Speaker Profile

Being the proprietor and founder of Webster Ng & Co. and Managing Director of AC CPA Limited, Mr Ng is a fellow Certified Public Accountant (Practising) and Chartered Tax Adviser.

Mr Ng holds the fellow member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK). He is also the ordinary member of The Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors (SCAA) and The Association of Hong Kong Professionals.In addition, Mr Ng is the Founding member of Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association (HKPASEA).

Ada is the Partner in the tax services practice, focusing on business tax services, based in Hong Kong. She provides Hong Kong and Australia tax compliance and advisory services to multinational, local corporations and entrepreneurial as well as non-profit organization. Ada is also leading the Global Incentives and Location Services in Greater China. She assists clients in site selection and identify the business incentives to help select optimal locations, secure and realize maximum savings for both tax and non-tax incentives, create operational efficiencies that reduce project costs associated with employment growth and capital expenditures.

Ada has extensive experience in principal and global structuring planning, Certificate of Residency status application, trust and family office advice, IPO review, inbound and outbound investments, supply chain management, business integration and reorganization, operation review, offshore claim exercise and intellectual property licensing and planning. Ada contributes tax technical articles to newspapers and technical journals as well as a frequent speaker at tax seminars organized by various professional bodies in Hong Kong.

Anita is a tax partner at KPMG leading the Tax Policy and Knowledge Management team in Hong Kong. Anita has over 20 years of experience in Hong Kong and international taxation. Before joining KPMG, Anita worked at the tax team of another Big4 accounting firm. Anita is currently a member of the Board of Review in Hong Kong.

Anita has been actively engaged in studying and providing recommendations on various Hong Kong and international tax matters in her capacity as a tax technical partner and a member of the tax committees of various professional bodies. Her other roles include providing in-house tax technical support and training at KPMG as well as producing the firm’s tax publications. She is a regular speaker of tax conferences and seminars.

Anita is the Honorary Secretary, Council Member and Co-chairman of the Tax Policy Committee of the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong. She is also a Chartered Tax Adviser, a member of the Tax Sub-committee of ACCA Hong Kong, and a member of the HKICPA.
