The 50th Anniversary of The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong
The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong has been contributing to the tax profession for half a century since 1972. It is the only professional body and non-profit organisation with the major purpose of promoting taxation learning and enhancing the standard of tax professionals in Hong Kong. The Institute had gone through all the ups and downs, with hardships, and achievements. And the Institute has now come to the year of the golden jubilee. With great support from all the Past Presidents, Advisers, Council Members, and friends, the Institute would like to send the deepest gratitude.
In 2022, the Institute launched a series of celebration activities, including slogan design competition, Memories in TIHK – mosaic & photo collage activity, Career Development and Mentorship Program, the first Tax Policy Paper Competition, 50th Anniversary Cup Race & Members Dinner and the giveaways activities on the social media platform. The activities have achieved huge and influential successes, and every bit of these are recording the historical and glorious moment of the Institute.
On November 18, the Institute held the 2022 Hong Kong Chartered Tax Adviser Conference (“Conference”) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. On the same night, the 50th Anniversary Dinner (“Dinner”) was held at Harbour Grand Hotel Hong Kong. Our 50th Anniversary celebration series eventually came to a standstill after we rounded off the Conference and Dinner. It was a great honour to have the Chief Executive of the Government of Hong Kong SAR, Mr. John KC Lee, GBM, SBS, PDSM, PMSM to send a congratulatory video to the Institute for the dinner. And it was also our honour to have the Honourable Paul CHAN Mo-po, GBM, GBS, MH, JP, the Financial Secretary of the Government of Hong Kong SAR to be the guest of honour of the dinner and delivered us a speech. The Institute was also very pleased to receive the following valued guest at the conference and the dinner: Mr Li Xuhong, the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Administration and Finance of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong SAR; the Hon Mrs Rita FAN HSU Lai-tai, GBM, GBS, JP, the first President of the Legislative Council and former member of the Standing Committee of the Eleventh session of the National People’s Congress; Professor Nelson Lam, JP, Director of Audit; Hon Edmund Wong Chun-sek, Member (Functional Constituency- Accountancy) of the Legislative Council; Mr. Joseph H. L. Chan, JP, Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury; Mr. Tam Tai-pang, JP, Commissioner of the Inland Revenue Department, Dr. Kelvin Wong, SBS JP., Chairman of the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council, and other friends from local professional bodies and higher education institutes. Their presence have brighten up the events, and it shown a growing recognition of the institute among the industry.
Time flies, thank you to all founding members who set the first step of the historic significance with vision 50 years ago. Today, the Institute had set a firm and determined foundation, with influence and a more cohesive team. In the future, the Institute will work harder to serve the public and improve the standard of the tax profession towards a brighter future, and the development of the Institute will be more brilliant.
香港稅務學會50周年誌慶
香港稅務學會自1972年成立以來至今已在稅務教育界耕耘半個世紀，一直不遺餘力地推動稅務學習，是本地唯一以推動稅務學習及致力提升香港稅務專業水準為宗旨的專業團體及非牟利組織。奮進充滿艱辛，成績來之不易，學會能夠走到金禧之年，實在值得慶賀，當中全賴各位前會長、顧問、理事、各政商界好友一直以來對學會的幫忙和支持。
在2022年，學會推出了一系列的慶祝及重點活動，包括標語創作比賽、「回憶點滴—馬賽克及照片拼貼」活動、大專生稅務人才發展計劃、首屆全國大專生稅務徵文比賽、五十周年紀念盃賽暨會員晚宴及社交平台送禮活動等。所有活動已圓滿結束及獲得正面迴響，這些一點一滴都是在紀錄著學會歷史性的輝煌一刻。
學會在11月18日於香港會議展覽中心舉行了2022年度特許稅務師研討會（“研討會”），同日晚上在港島海逸君綽酒店舉行了50周年晚宴（“晚宴”），標誌著學會50周年慶祝活動正式落幕。在晚宴上，學會非常榮幸香港特別行政區行政長官李家超先生撥冗為學會致以祝賀視頻以及邀請到財政司司長陳茂波先生擔任主禮嘉賓。學會十分高興得到一眾政府官員及貴賓的支持，應邀出席研討會及晚宴，當中包括：中聯辦李旭鴻副部長、首屆立法會主席及前任全國人大常委范徐麗泰女士、審計署署長林智遠教授、立法會議員黃俊碩先生、財經事務及庫務局副局長陳浩濂先生、稅務局局長譚大鵬先生、會計及財務匯報局主席黃天佑博士以及多位來自會計、稅務界專業機構及大專院校的好友。嘉賓陣容鼎盛，令活動生色不少，這亦正代表著學會的認受性在業界備受推崇。
時光匆匆如流水，回首往昔，50年前的創會成員帶著美好的憧憬，邁開了具有歷史意義的第一步，許多動人事跡仍歷歷在目。今天，香港稅務學會已具備了堅實的人才基礎、強大的影響力、更有凝聚力的團隊，在今後定必更加努力地為大眾服務，作為稅務界的翹楚帶領社群，步向一個更璀璨的未來，迎接下一個更精彩輝煌的里程碑。
